Today is Jamie Edward Montgomery's 26th birthday. While he is less that thrilled to be turning another year older, I love birthdays and am forcing a little celebration on him.
We were extremely productive yesterday. I have been looking for a phone for my sister for months now, and finally found her a chocolate. That meant that I needed to have the car to go pick it up. While I had it, I decided to make the most of it.... I went to the NEX, the commissary, the dry cleaners, target, starbucks, the post office, the district office, and the bank. Why I could be crazy enough to brave all of this with a 3 year old and (almost) 2 year old, you ask? Because my boys love to get out of the house, and I thought it would be a good day. Now, usually, I make Eli ride in the cart with his brother, but at target, I needed to get a new computer chair, and the one that Eli picked out wouldn't fit in the cart with both kids in it. This turned into Eli walking of course. I was nervous about this. He is easily distracted, and sometimes seems to have his fathers selective hearing when he's interested in something... I had no need to be worried at all. He was the greatest helper, and a wonderful listener, AND he stayed by me the whole time, i didn't have to tell him to come back even ONE time! As a result, he got to walk at the commissary also, and we had the same results. What a great boy he is :)
SO, having such a busy day yesterday, I am lacking motivation today. I really do need to finish the cleaning here. Jamie loves to come home to a clean house ( really, doesn't every one? i mean, no one really likes to come home to a mess right?), so being that its his birthday, i want him to have a spotless home when he gets here. They have been really busy at work. Im hoping that today is better for him. He was thrown into this new shop and is already runnin things... I can't say that Im surprised, as he is a natural leader, but he is just frustrated with the way things were when he got here. Shows the lack of competence.
We already did J's birthday present, he NEEDED a blackberry, so we went a got that a few weeks ago. While his mom was here she got him the bluRay that he's been wanting. So there won't be anything exciting to open tonight, BUT we are doing his birthday dinner, cake, ice cream, and whatever he wants to do tonight. He can't seem to tell me what he wants for dinner, so at this point i'll be fried chicken, mashed taters, and biscuits. Hopefully all goes well and he isn't a baby about being another year older.... *sigh*
